Welcome to the Year 1 Homepage!
Now that we are in to our second term, we do encourage the children to come in on their own in the mornings and organise themselves ready for the school day. If you have anything that you need to discuss with your child's class teacher, please feel free to pop in after school, you are always welcome. If it is an urgent matter, please either jot it down in your child's reading diary (this will be picked up within the first half an hour of the school day) or see if you can find a Year 1 TA who will either pass on a message or will come and get one of us if it is necessary.
Our topic this term is Traditional Tales.
PE lessons will take place on a Thursday and Friday morning. Please ensure your child's P.E kit (both indoor and outdoor) is in school at all times and that it is named.
We regularly update our twitter page with photos of what we are getting up to in year 1. If you are not already 'following' us, please do get involved.
Thank you for your continued support.

The children really enjoyed performing in our assembly. They retold the story of 'The Three Little Wolves and The Big Bad Pig'. We are very proud of the children, as they all acted confidently on stage in front of the whole school! Well done Year One!
Year 1 Trip - Theatre Royal Plymouth
On Thursday 17th January, Year 1 visited the Theatre Royal Plymouth. We all thoroughly enjoyed watching a production of The Gingerbread Man! The performance has inspired us to write our own version of the story and we have also written a recount of our trip.
After being inspired by our Traditional Tales topic, we decided to find out which material would be the best to build a house for the Three Little Pigs. The children have made predictions, tested a variety of materials fairly and have written up their results.
