Below, you will find a Powerpoint presentation that contains lots of useful information about Year 2. We have also put a video together that talks you through the slides. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. You will find our email addresses below. 

Hello and welcome to the year 2 web page; we hope that you find it useful.

This  page will include important information for your diary, information about the Year 2 curriculum and copies of any letters that are sent home. It will also include useful website links to help you support your child's learning at home. You will also find pictures celebrating our learning.

Meet the Year 2 support team

PE days
The PE/ Games timetable for both 2AC and 2EL are as follows:
Monday afternoon - Outdoor Games activities
Thursday morning - Indoor PE activities
Please can you ensure that your child wears the appropriate kit to school on a MONDAY only. Warmer tracksuits may be required in the winter months. School uniform will be fine to wear on a Thursday for indoor PE.

For this term, there will be no homework grid. Children will be expected to read at home at least five times a week and to log on to Numbots to practice Maths fluency. They can also practise their spellings using the list below or on Spelling Shed. School Jam is also available to practise different maths activities. Children will be given their login details for both websites. Please see links below which will take you directly to the sites.

Below is an electronic copy of some useful documents. If you cannot find the document that you need, please contact your child's class teacher. All of our letters are now emailed to parents/carers via the ParentPay platform.

Maths Playground

This is a website full of math games that encourage logical thinking and reasoning. It is the perfect site to help your child develop their mathematical knowledge in a fun and interactive way.

Spelling Shed

This website enables your child to learn their spellings through a fun and interactive way. Their weekly spelling lists will be uploaded to the site each week.


Your child has their own login to this game. The more they play and learn, the more points they will earn to build and improve their robot avatar.


You will need your log in for the website. This is a web site to help your child improve their joined handwriting and help them to master their letter formation. 

Oxford Owl

This is a free website that gives you access to free eBooks that you can share with your child at home.  

Pobble 365

This website gives you a different picture each day and provides you with some question prompts and ideas to help inspire and motivate children to write. 


 This website is free to use and has lots of different science activities that you can work through.
