At Elburton, we believe primary education should give children both strong foundations for today and wide horizons for tomorrow.

We are ambitious for every child. We want our pupils to leave us as knowledgeable, confident and articulate young people who are curious about the world, proud of what they achieve and ready to embrace the opportunities ahead of them.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to build secure knowledge in reading, writing, mathematics and the wider curriculum, while also giving children opportunities to think deeply, communicate clearly, ask questions, solve problems and make meaningful connections.

We also believe that a great education extends beyond academic success. Through sport, the arts, leadership, enrichment, pupil voice, wider experiences and links with our community, we help children develop confidence, independence, creativity and a strong sense of belonging.

Elburton has been part of its local community for over 55 years, and we are proud of the relationships and traditions that have grown over that time. At the same time, we are ambitious about the future and continue to reflect, develop and evolve so that the education we provide prepares children well for the world they are growing into.

Most importantly, we want children to enjoy coming to school, feel known and valued, and believe in what they are capable of achieving.

This Week At Elburton

Looking, Thinking and Talking

Year 2 explored how images can make us feel and how pictures can communicate postivie and negative messages. The children discussed what they noticed, explained their ideas and listened to different viewpoints, developing both their visual literacy and their confidence in expressing an opinion.

Democracy at Elburton

We are delighted to introduce our new School Council representatives. These pupils will make sure children's ideas and views are heard, bringing suggestions from their classes and helping to shape aspects of school life. 

Through the School Council, children in every year class, develop confidence, responsibility, leadership and an understanding of how they can contribute positively to their community.

Football,Teamwork and Confidence. Learning Beyond the Classroom.

Our Year 5 and 6 Football Club is up and running, giving pupils the chance to develop their skills, fitness and confidence through regular team sport. Alongside football techniques, children are learning to communicate, work together, make decisions and show resilience - all importance skills on and off the pitch.
